Single Release Update

As the release of the single approcahes we're getting inundated with requests for information. We were planning a major launch on Monday morning but thought a wee update wouldn't go amiss.

  • Single has now been remixed and is being printed on Monday night.
  • Cover artwork completed and the single has now been registered with iTunes and the chart company to allow all sales to count towards the official UK Charts.
  • There will be 40,000 singles available for official sale with all profits going to Children in Need - RRP is £3.99 with £1 going to charity. This is about par for the course.
  • The single will be available as a download on iTunes hopefully by the 12th of November but this is in their hands now. Cost £1 per track
  • The track is already available for pre-order at HMV
  • The single will be available across Scotland at the following stores - Woolworths, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Virgin, HMV and leading independants from Monday 12th of November
On the question asked about BBC - it can't be the official single but the BBC and Children in need have adopted it as theirs and have been instrumental in the recording and promotion. Here's what's happening
  • Friday 9th November - first plays across BBC Scotland, TV and Radio - Wogan has been approached as has Breakfast TV and Fred McAuley. A radio edit has been created and will be sent to over two hundred stations next week. So request it!
  • BBC Scotland are producing the Loch Lomond video with live footage for webcast and broadcast
  • There is also the possibility of an additional "David Begg" mix being done.
  • Friday 16th - Runrig will perform the track live at BBC Scotland on the Children in Need show at 8.40pm the night before the match with 300 of the Tartan Army. This will be drawn by ballot and information will be available shortly through Tartan Army.com and ATAC. If you're interested in being there send us an e-mail to info@tartanarmy.com
  • Saturday 17th - Well you know what's going on then...
  • Sunday 18th - as the qualification hangover kicks in we hopefully see Loch Lomond in the national charts...

And that is where it's at. There are a load of companies promising support over the coming fortnight to get the message out to staff, clients, Scots abroad etc. If the wider Tartan Army can send the links out worldwide then the single can be a massive success and cap what will be a fantastic week for Scottish football and raise a whack of cash for needy kids and projects in Scotland.
If you can help, visit the Loch Lomond Street Team page for some ideas. Any comments really welcomed.

Meanwhile you can order your CD single NOW
